Hi, I’m Sabine

I’m the founder of Be In Balance, an integrative health coaching practice for whole-person health and wellbeing. I focus on the mental and emotional aspects of wellness and how our mindset affects our overall health and our relationship with food and body.

I help highly stressed individuals identify the root causes of their stress and struggles and change the limiting beliefs and behaviours that keep holding them back.

Through our work together, I help clients restore inner balance and reconnect with their intuition and authenticity. They become empowered to channel all their energy and potential into creating positive shifts and lasting changes in their personal and professional lives.

My Story

I know firsthand how much energy and joy can disappear from our lives when our wellbeing is compromised or when we follow a path that isn’t aligned with our inner truth.

Throughout my childhood, I suffered from stomach cramps, food-related problems, and skin conditions that no one could help me with at the time.

As a teenager, my self-esteem and confidence dropped. I developed a negative body image and a toxic relationship with food. I was trapped in a dieting mindset and filled with critical thoughts about my body and myself.

Still, a part of me always knew there must be a better way, and I was determined to find it.

The Beginning of My Career Journey

After school, I studied nutritional sciences because I always wanted to help others feel their best – and me, too. The concept of prevention over treatment for our overall health and wellbeing resonated with me a lot.

When I graduated, though, I realised that knowledge about food and the physiological and biochemical workings of the body did not provide ALL the answers I was looking for. Something important was missing.

After working for a few years in health communication, it became clear that I was not on a fulfilling career path.

When my frustration grew, I reached a low point with no clue how to change directions in my personal or professional life. I decided to take a sabbatical for self-discovery and travel – a decision that changed my whole life.

A Shift That Changed Everything: A New Way of Seeing Life

New Zealand was my first destination since I’d always wanted to see a rainforest. Walking in solitude and silence in the most breathtaking nature shifted my perception of life as I knew it in a range of “magical moments.”

My mind became still, and all the usual mental chatter stopped. In this stillness, significant insights appeared “out of nowhere” in my head.

I realised I had been thinking inside a box my entire life, trapped by the mental constructs, concepts and beliefs that shaped my reality. For the first time, I recognised the true power of my thoughts, and the walls of that box crumbled.

I was in a state of bliss and had never felt more alive. A vast space of unlimited freedom opened within me, and I began to reimagine my life with fresh eyes and endless possibilities.

Embracing Motherhood, Inner Healing, and Relocating Abroad


In 2000, I became a mum to a beautiful baby boy and was over the moon. Happy, fulfilling years followed, during which I fully enjoyed motherhood and the touching first years with a little one.

At the same time, I embarked on a healing journey to let go of emotional stress and past trauma to become the best mother I could be. I also began to practice mindfulness to reduce my mental and emotional stress consciously. Learning about the mind-body connection was a real eye-opener.

Taking better care of myself from “the inside out” had a profound effect on my health and my mental and emotional wellbeing. I felt more empowered every day and could hear my positive inner voice loud and clear.

In 2005, after another visit to New Zealand and many preparations, everything fell into place for us, and we moved from Germany to New Zealand.

Expanding My Skills to Help Others

After settling in, I used the powerful energy of new beginnings to expand my nutrition expertise. I knew I wanted to help others break free, too.

I set out on a more holistic approach to health and wellness that considers the interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit and that works with the mind-body connection and the subtle energies that influence our health and wellbeing.

I got certified in massage therapy, kinesiology and the energy healing / holistic coaching system innerwise®.

Later, I became certified as an Eating Psychology (Mind-Body Eating) Health coach and trained in stress management and transformative coaching strategies.

I became certified in hypnotherapy and Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) to complete my professional toolkit.

Embracing Balance and Living with Joy

Today, my struggles with food, body image, and negative thoughts that keep me from living my best life are long stories from the past that no longer define me. I have embraced my journey back into balance with self-compassion and self-love, knowing that every experience was a necessary step in my growth – deepening my awareness and shaping who I am today.

I now understand that health and happiness aren’t destinations outside of us but innate states of being – the natural state of our true self we are all born with.

When I find myself stuck in my thinking mind, I have the tools to restore my inner peace quickly and can follow my joy as a trusted guide through this ever-unfolding, beautiful adventure and journey called life.
