Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, I started my professional career with a science degree in Oecotrophology, specialising in Nutritional Sciences at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (Germany). I learned in depth how the body works on the biochemical and physiological level. Thus I gained a solid scientific background for being a Nutritionist and an understanding of what makes the body tick deep inside the cells.
While working in health related fields in the area of communication and marketing my interest in a more holistic health approach including all levels of the body and mind grew.
After falling in love with New Zealand and the Kiwi way of living during extended travel I moved to Auckland with my family in 2005.
In New Zealand I gained further qualifications in massage therapy to support my belief in the power and importance of touch for our health.
I started to comprehend that our bodies’ self-healing abilities and self-regulation can be most successfully supported if the healing does not only take place on the physical level but also includes clearing any blockages on the subconscious levels, where abundant health and happiness are created in the first place. I added a certification in Kinesiology and the energy healing system Innerwise to my skill set.
Based on my own experience with food and body struggles and through working with clients I was always aware that good nutrition is only part of the picture for achieving optimal health or for developing a happy relationship with food and body.
That’s why I trained at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating , the world’s leading school in Nutritional Psychology where I received my certification as an Eating Psychology Coach.
In IPE’s internationally acclaimed program, I learned powerful cutting-edge tools and protocols that enable me to work with weight issues, body image challenges, overeating, binge eating, and a variety of nutrition related health concerns such as digestion, fatigue, mood, immunity, and others.
My work as Eating Psychology Coach combines the powerful new fields of Dynamic Eating Psychology and Mind-Body Nutrition. The skills I use from this training are a combination of practical coaching techniques, results-oriented psychology, clinical nutrition, body-centered practices, mind-body science, and a positive and compassionate approach to challenges with food and health.
